BY-LAWS: A copy of the Seaside Quilters By-laws is available for members
NEWSLETTER: Our monthly newsletter is e-mailed to members from September to June. It contains timely information about the upcoming meetings, program, speaker, workshop and other activities. Please tell the Membership committee if you do not have e-mail access and you will receive the newsletter by mail.
REFRESHMENTS: The Hospitality Committee co-ordinates refreshments for monthly meetings. Each member is asked to provide a treat for regular monthly meetings once during the year. Sign up for your birthday month if you want a month that is easy to remember. In addition we have potluck suppers at the December and June meetings.
DOOR PRIZES The month of your birthday we ask you to bring a door prize. It may be quilting related or not, wrapped as a gift. You will receive a door prize ticket when you sign in and if you bring a creation to share, you will get an additional ticket.
FUND RAISING Our main event is the Chinese Auction held in the Fall. This event pays for speakers, rent and business expenses. Members are expected to make and donate items for this event. Guests are welcome and encouraged for this event. We also have an Opportunity of the Month to buy a ticket and win a prize donated by a member.
CHARITY PROJECT We make quilts for the Linus Project. We collect toys in December to give to children in need and we bring non-perishable items for a community organization.
BLOCK OF THE MONTH: A block pattern will be handed out one month and you bring it back the next month and you will be eligible to win all the returned blocks.
FAT QUARTERS: Each month the newsletter will tell you what size fabric to bring for a drawing. If you participate and win the drawing you get all the fabric.
CHALLENGE: A challenge theme is announced each year. Participants receive the directions and creat something to be shown at the end of the Seaside year.
LIBRARY Seaside has an extensive Library for member use. You may check out a book for a month and you must pay overdue fees if you are late returning it.
